    • Only-While-Playing Option

It would be nice if there was an option (perhaps on the menubar icon) that controlled the volume buttons such that they would act normally when iTunes was *not* playing music.

I keep iTunes open all the time, but not always playing music. In those cases, Volume for iTunes could be 'disabled' and when music is playing, it could automatically re-enable itself.

      • Not seeing indicators on the screen is not an idea; it's supposed to be a feature as the images on the Mac App Store clearly show.

Again, this is not an idea for the program. This is supposed to be a feature. Look at the pictures in the MAS; where the heck are the visible volume indicators? This is NOT what I paid for, and posting this in a useless forum that the developer is clearly not reading is also probably a waste of time. DO NOT BUY THIS!

        • Yosemite volume control indicators (like when changing main system volume)

I don't see any indicators on screen, it twould be great to have it - it should mimic system volume indicators. it wolud be great specialy for people who have speakers connected with optical toslink cable - system volume is locked and its not working.

                • Volume for Itunes doesn't work on my 10.6.8

Unless installing succeeds, Volume Itunes doens't show up in the upper bar and clicking on the icon in the dock has no effect (as well as clicking in application menu). I upgrade to Mavericks, try on Moutain Lion, and it works, but I have to stay on Snow Leopard for compatibility reasons. Any chance to make your app working on 10.6.8?

                  • boom, itunes & airportXpress

i'm having trouble with a timelag between macbook and stereo. this lag gets bigger over time. when i change volume in boom, timelag is solved 80% of the time.
at boom-support they say, it could be, that volume for itunes is interfering?
i'm on mavericks, streaming music via airportXpress & itunes. sound is coming from stereo and macbook. boom and volume for itunes installed and turned on.
                    any help on this?

Hi, I'm testing out OS X Mavericks. It seems Volume for iTunes is not compatible yet? Are you planning compatibility for the final release? Cannot live without this software anymore :)

                        • Switch between mean volume

I loved to have the options to choice the mean volume. If you anable Volume for iTunes the mean volume is iTunes and you need to hold cmd for your system volume.

i want to change it. so normal volume is for the system and volume with cmd is for iTunes. is that posible?

The reason I was using this program was because it linked system volume to itunes volume. The update gets rid of this feature. Is there anyway I can download the old version?

Sorry for such a delay everyone. The main problem is this: The existing app is not sandboxed, and because of that, it has the ability to read presses of the volume key. Apple has required sandboxing for quite some time now, but I’ve been able to slip things by them under the guise of bug fixes. Unfortunately they’ve caught on and are now requiring any updates I submit to be sandboxed.

What this means is that the next version of Volume for iTunes won’t be able to detect presses of the volume keys. It will have to default to something else like Cmd + F12 (which is just Cmd + Fn + volume). I will setup an option to download a helper app that will once again allow volume key functioning, but that will be an additional step that you as users must do, it’s not something that can be…

Hi, I am having the same problem here. I had version 1.1 and it operated fine. I could adjust the volume on my itunes with the apple remote. (iMac, Snow Leopard, itunes 11.02 26. itunes streams to my stereo through airport).
So then I downloaded the version 1.2, restart the computer, it does not work. I removed it and bought the same version again. Nothing. There is an icon in the dock, but upon clicking it nothing happens. There used to appear an icon in the menu bar in the top - left. But it does not with this version.…
